Windows Aero is the unique and premium visual enhancement feature of windows vista and windows 7.

This fancy new Aero interface makes the windows look like glass and provides some blur and very cool 3D effects. But  many of us doesn’t like this effect and would prefer it to be more transparent rather than being translucent.

Hence to disable Windows Aero and return to a simpler one , follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2. Click Appearance and Personalization.

3. Under Personalization, click Change the color scheme.

4. In the Appearance Settings dialog, click Windows Vista Basic, and then click OK. Or, if you prefer a Windows 2000-style interface, click Windows Standard, and then click OK.

Windows Vista will think for a bit, and then it’ll turn off all the 3D effects.

Many times you are encountered with the problem when you are trying to restart apache2 in Ubuntu operating system.

The Solution of this problem is :-

In this type of problem  you seem to be missing a VirtualHost section or a NameVirtualHost declaration in your configuration.

You either need to remove the NameVirtualHost line, or fix your virtual host configuration

You can run netstat --tcp --listening --programs to show all listening sockets as well as the application listening on each port. You’ll be looking for *:www or *:80 in the "Local Address" column. Once you know the application listening on port 80, you can determine the best method of solving the problem.

If you are encountered any problem to access the MYSQLdb server through a VPN with error message:

OperationalError: (2003, "Can’t connect to MySQL server on ‘MY_IP’ (10061)")

The simple solution of this problem is:

Open a cmd window if you are using Windows replace 192.168.201.1 with the IP or hostname of your mysql server. If it’s blocked you will see something

and eventually a timeout.

If you can reach the port then you should see something similar to:

MySQL only allows TCP connections from localhost – assuming your python application is running on the same machine as MySQL, ensure that your MySQL bindings are to the local IP address, and that there is no firewall on the machine preventing connections on port 3306.

1 ) Most of the Firefox 3 crash and hang issue are because of incompatible Firefox 3 add-on and Extensions. You must check weather any of installed extensions are in Mozilla Problematic extensions List. Disable/Remove all Incompatible Extensions.

2)  You are using the VLC Media Player plug-in and view VMW media – The VLC Media player includes its own browser plug-in so, it conflicts with the WMP plug-in and hence causes a crash.  Remove the VLC plug-in (from add remove programs in the control panel for windows).

3) Downloading files – The Download History file might also force Firefox to crash.  To fix this, close the browser, search for "downloads.pdf" and delete this file from your hard disk(you need to also search for hidden and system files).

1)  If you are not sure which Extensions Add-on creating problem then Perform the following steps to identify Extensions Issue

Go To Mozilla Firefox
Profile Directory
Rename extensions folder to extensions1 for a time
Create Empty Extensions folder
Now check you Firefox is crashing or not. If it stops crashing then its your extensions and add-on creating Firefox 3 crash problem.

2) Run in Safe Mode

If Firefox no longer crashes while running in Safe Mode, then you know you have an issue with one of the Plug-in,Extensions ,Settings ,Profile .

3)  Disable Unnecessary Plug-in, Extensions ,Setting,Clear Out the Caches.

4) XP Users: Run Firefox in Compatibility Mode.

Continuing with their effort to provide more useful information to webmasters, Google today announced that they will be sending more notifications to webmasters through Webmasters Tools’ Message Center regarding potential security issues on the sites they own.

Google Webmaster Tools seems to be the most important tool for any webmasters and bloggers for FREE and it is among the top tool now on the internet together with Yahoo Site Explorer and Bing Webmaster Tool.

These notifications are meant to alert webmasters of potential issues and provide next steps on how to get their sites fixed and back into Google’s search results. If it pertains to a hacking or abuse issue, the notification will point to example URLs exhibiting this type of behavior.

Google uses automatic algorithms and user feedback to compile lists of sites that may be dangerous.

Steps  of  Implementation

Steps 1 :  In the main chat window go to the "Accounts" menu, select "Manage Accounts" and then click "Add accounts."

Steps 2 :  Select the XMPP protocol, enter your Facebook username, "chat.facebook.com" as the "Domain" and your password. "Resource" and "Local Alias" are optional.

Steps 3 :   In the advanced tab deselect "Require SSL/TLS," enter 5222 as the "Connect port" (this should already be filled in by default) and "chat.facebook.com" as the "Connect server," though this last step is optional.

That’s it, you’re set to use Facebook Chat in Pidgin.

So, you just downloaded a ZIP file from the Internet and got stuck while opening it with a message such as “Invalid Zip file” or  “Corrupt Zip file” and it asks you to redownload it, now for small files it’s ok but for huge files you wont consider doing that again honestly, neither would I .

Now we have two scenario’s

1.  All Zip file contents are important for you , ie. each and every file in the ZIP , then you have no solution except than redownloading the whole zip file again.

2. If you are interested in only some of the files inside the ZIP archive and not all of them, then you can use this software utility to get those files .

So, for the second scenario we have a freeware utility Disk Internals Zip recovery tool, which can be downloaded here.

This tool would work in most  cases and i hope it would prove useful for you too .

If you try to open your Mozilla Firefox and you get such a error as “ USE INTERNET EXPLORER YOU DOPE” and it gives messages like “YOUTUBE IS BANNED” and “ORKUT IS BANNED” even though you are using internet directly via your ISP and no college or Workplace proxy server in between then you can start panicking as you have been infected by a virus.

Steps to remove this Virus are as follows .

1. Open Task manager  by pressing ctrl+alt+del and then go to Processes tab

2. Find svchost.exe with your username(warning not a svchost.exe with a SYSTEM as username, as there are about 3-4 svchost.exe services running) end or kill these processes by pressing end process.

2. Open Run.. type  cmd  and then go to c: and then type del heap41a and confirm by pressing yes if it asks for a confirmation.

3. Goto Start -> Regedit -> Edit Tab -> Find -> Search for “heap41a” and delete that key.

4. Close the Registry Editor
