Fring has enabled cross video chatting platform that allow users to conduct two way video conversations between devices with front cameras. It means one can easily connect with iPhone 4 and an EVO 4G or any other front camera phone.

The new Fring update also allows people with say an iPhone 3GS to participate in a video call, though it’s only one way on their end because they don’t have two cameras.

I just tried it out and the service does indeed work over 3G. But it’s not executed as well as FaceTime. The image quality over 3G is more pixelated and the sound quality is bad. Even over Wi-Fi, the picture isn’t as good as FaceTime.

The conversation is held over speaker phone but the voice levels are very low. FaceTime on the iPhone 4 utilizes more bandwidth for sound so you actually sound better on a FaceTime call than you do on a regular call over speaker phone.

Also, placing a call can be inconsistent. Sometimes the option for video calls doesn’t appear when you look up a friend. And for some reason, you can only conduct calls on the Evo in landscape mode while the iPhone 4 works only in portrait.

Still this is a nice update because it means that mobile video chat can grow beyond one platform. Hopefully, Fring can improve the service and make it feel more polished.

As far as its cost is concerned sony says that it’ll launch a 160GB as well as a 320GB PS3, but the company’s only offering the new white finish if you buy the 160GB model for 29,980 yen ($342).

An alternative 320GB model will be available for 34,980 yen ($399) in the traditional matte black only.the current model of sony’s new white ps3 will goin to replace 120GB and 250GB. If SONY  offered a 320GB version for the current 250GB model’s $350 price tag, they’d be about the same price as Microsoft’s new Xbox 360.

The new white version will ship with a color-matched DualShock 3 controller and console stand. It still won’t include an HDMI cable, though you can pick up a six-footer for between $5 and $10 online. Alcatel One Touch Net is manufactured by TCT Mobile, and it’s heading to India next month. Google already got Nexus One, Apple got iPhone. Yahoo is feeling proud for his newly launched Alcatel One Touch Net mobile as the first handset to fully integrate the Sunnyvale company’s services.

One Touch Net is going to be available in India in July with Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam to follow later.

It has the same body as RIM’s Blackberry, but definitely not the same aesthetics. It has the same full, physical QWERTY keyboard, and it’s rocking a “special optical trackpad.” We have no idea what that means, or what makes their track pad special, but hopefully they’re not just trying to throw some fancy words in there for good measure.

The handset also features a 2.4-inch display, integrated FM radio, EDGE connectivity, a 2MP camera on the back, and 80MB of internal memory. As for those Yahoo! services? You get Yahoo! Now with a new experience on a bigger screen, the Google Earth version 3.0.0 application has been updated, with iPad support, allowing you to now touch and swipe your way through the high-resolution satellite and aerial imagery available in the desktop version of Google Earth and its prior mobile counterparts. 

The new app works very similar to how the iPhone version works but with the iPad having a larger screen it makes the experience far better.The main problem we came across was when using pinch to zoom where the "Earth" couldn’t keep up and kept freezing

Now we can easily play around with Google Earth on a bigger screen scrolling around in an easy way without freezing, as we hope so!

It is the same way like Personal Computer or Phone did, Ipad also gives unresponsive responses to the buttons as it gets hangs usually when a new application is started. To overcome such problems what a person can do is reset all the settings or can format the memory attached with it.

In Case iPad Hangs, What To Do ?

Just in case if your iPad does not respond to any action, you will need to restart it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears – which confirms that iPad is restarted.

To Reset all iPad settings:

Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset All Settings. All your preferences and settings are reset. Information, such as your contacts and calendars, and media, such as your songs and videos, aren’t deleted.

To Erase all iPad content and settings:

Choose General > Reset, then tap “Erase All Content and Settings.” This resets all settings to their original values and erases all your information and media.

To Reset iPad Network Settings:

Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Network Settings. When you reset network settings, your list of previously used networks and VPN settings not installed by a configuration profile are removed. Wi-Fi is turned of and then back on, disconnecting you from any network you’re on. The Wi-Fi and “Ask to
Join Networks” settings remain turned on.

To Reset iPad Home screen layout:

Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Home Screen Layout.

To Reset iPad location warnings:

Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Location

Note: Location warnings are the requests made by applications (such as Maps) to use Location Services with those applications. iPad stops presenting the warning for an application the second time you tap OK. Tap Reset Location Warnings to resume the warnings.

To Reset iPad keyboard dictionary?

Choose General >> Reset, then tap “Reset Keyboard Dictionary”. Resetting the keyboard dictionary erases all words you’ve added.

Panasonic has uncovered new 152-inch plasma HDTV at CES 2010. Ii gives new dimension for 3D viewing of Movies, although TV is very huge in size and also sports features like full HD 3D and a resolution of 4K x 2K.

The Panasonic 152 inch Plasma TV can display video at a massive resolution of 4096 x 2160, which is about double today’s current full 1080p HD resolution, and it displays a massive eight million pixels, and features a 17:9 aspect ratio.

The new Panasonic plasma comes with a new plasma display panel in which the company uses its own new “super-efficient quadruple luminous efficiency technology” which makes a self-illuminating TV offer you an “overwhelming immersive experience”. The technology should offer a great response to moving images which means that 3D movies will look particularly good on such a display. Panasonic has also employed a crosstalk reduction technology which will fool our eyes into seeing 3D images better than other 3D panels.

Panasonic is getting ready for the future of TV watching which has 3D written all over it. Future displays will be ready to accommodate our 3D needs and will definitely come in handy in various areas like business, medicine or education. And they will be able to offer us a true 3D viewing experience of the hottest 3D movies and TV shows. If only Panasonic made smaller similar HDTV’s! But I am sure they will do so in the near future.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs kick-started the Worldwide Developers Conference 2010 in San Francisco with the announcement of next generation iPhone model – iPhone 4. After the infamous Gizmodo and Vietnamese showcase, Apple has stuck to its plans and announced the fourth generation iPhone model.

Display:

With the new iPhone 4, Apple debuts new display dubbed as ‘Retina Display’. This 3.5-inch multi-touch display offers 960×640 pixel resolution at 326 pixels per inch. This means crisper images and more amazing graphics display while playing games. Apart from that this IPS technology based panel will offer 800:1 contrast ratio that would be four times better than the previous generation iPhone devices.

So you can comfortably watch 720p HD movie on this 960×640 pixel display and with more accurate colors. Apart from that, both front display and back panel would come coated with fingerprint resistant oleophobic coating.

Processor:

If you can recollect the mysterious Apple A4 System-on-Chip processor used in iPad, then you won’t be surprised to discover that Apple has used A4 processor. Yes, it’s the same processor that powers the iPad’s snazzy interface. Apple claims this chip to be power efficient and hence conserves power to add up to the battery life.

Camera:

Apple has added 5 megapixel sensor with backside illuminated sensor and LED Flash. This new camera will also offer five times digital zoom and tap to focus options. Not only that, this 5 Megapixel camera sensor is capable of recording 720p HD video at 30 frames per second. The LED Flash will stay illuminated for recording better quality picture in videos.

The iPhone 4 has front facing camera that enables video calling dubbed as FaceTime that works even when WiFi is turned off. No setup or installation is required as FaceTime works out of the box. Apple has build FaceTime using bunch of open standards like SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), H.264, AAC and so on.

Apple will also introduce new iMovie for iPhone app for video editing that will include options like scene transitions, themes, editable titles, and much more. This App will be available at a price of $5 after iOS4 is rolled out to everyone.

Will iPhone 4 turn out to be killer o Flip Mino HD and alikes? We’ll wait and see.

Gyroscope:

Apple has added three-axis gyroscope, a device maintaining orientation or measuring it based on the rotation mechanism of the object. In this case the iPhone 4 which is clubbed with Accelerometer to make it 6-axis motion sensing. Wow! Sony’s PlayStation 3′s game controller has gyroscopic motion sensing. It’s quite possible that in near future, we may see touchscreen apps supplementing the game controllers.

Battery life:

One of the major issues of all iPhone users has been the battery life and hence Apple has put a larger battery in the iPhone 4. The lithium-ion rechargeable battery promises to offer up to 7 hours of talk time on 3G networks while 14 hours of talk time on 2G Networks. Also one can listen to music for 40 hours or watch videos for up to 10 hours. Most amazing part is that users can now browser mobile web for up to 10 hours on the iPhone 4, that is as much as offered by new Intel Atom Pine Trail platform based netbooks.

Bumpers:

Since Apple would be using outer rims as part of its antenna system, the company has come out with its own set of cases to protect the iPhone. Apple has introduced iPhone 4 protection cases dubbed as Bumpers that would be available in white, black, green, blue, orange and pink. Made out of moulded plastic and rubber, these cases are meant to keep the antenna system as well the glass panels safe.

Quite a lot of features like multi-tasking and folders utilities will arrive with iOS4 update but iPhone 4 will come preloaded with it. The iPhone 4 will require iTunes 9.2 so we can anticipate that iTunes software upgrade in coming weeks. Apple iPhone 4 will be available in white and black colors. Pre-orders begin June 15 and phones will start shipping on June 24 in the US France, Germany, UK and Japan. Apple will roll out iPhone 4 to 18 more countries in July, 24 more in August, and 40 more in September. Let’s hope that India would be considered during August or at least September roll out of iPhone 4 device.
